Message from Athletic Director

Tatnall Athletics

With the fall athletic season upon us, I would like to share some detailed information and a few important dates to put into your calendars. If you have not heard from your program head coaches about dates and times for preseason, they will be reaching out with details very soon. I have listed the email addresses of our fall head coaches below, should you need to reach out with any questions.

  • August 11 - First day of Fall Preseason. Practice times are communicated by head coaches. It is extremely important for students to attend practices once the preseason begins on this date. This will help acclimate new students, reacclimate returning students, and lay a foundation for the season ahead.
  • August 11 - Fall Sports Parent Meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Laird Performing Arts Center. Individual team parent meetings to follow. (Mandatory attendance).
  • August 18 - Fall Sports Media Day for student-athletes from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. (Mandatory attendance).

Message from the Athletic Trainer:
Please upload all completed DIAA physical forms in Magnus by August 11. Most forms take 2-3 days to show up online, so forms uploaded at the end of the week before the 11th may not be visible by the first day. Please upload your physical forms ASAP! For more information about Magnus, please click here.
  • Students should bring a personal water bottle to practice every day, 24oz or more.
  • Tatnall will provide water containers at every practice. Kids may refill their personal water containers from the coolers provided.
  • Please have your kids eat breakfast and drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially the night before.
  • Please have your kids report any injuries to me ASAP. Encourage them to ice at night and to eat a good dinner with plenty of water.
  • I will be monitoring the weather. We have a lightning protocol in place. We also have a weather monitoring station that will guide us in practice modification or cancellation based on temperature and humidity.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Athletic Trainer, Fred Palfrey, at fredpalfrey@tatnall.org if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to a great fall athletics season ahead. I can’t wait to see many of you at games supporting our student-athletes and representing Tatnall with pride! We could not have a successful athletic program without you and our community. Thank you in advance for your partnership and support of our programs! Go Hornets!

Go Hornets.

TATNALL GIRLS INDOOR TRACK CLAIMS DIAA STATE TITLE

11/9/2024

2024 Girl and Boys Cross Country STATE CHAMPIONS!

The Tatnall boys and girls are bringing the DIAA D2 State Championship trophies back home to Barley Mill Road! This marked the fifth consecutive cross country state title for the boys and the second consecutive for the girls.  Our boys scored 43 points with three in the top ten, led by Ben Pizarro’s first-place finish. His time of 15:27 is #2 all-time at Killens Pond State Park Cross Country Course.

The girls placed four in the top five, good for 32 total points. Katie Payne ran away with the win in a time of 17:37, #4 all-time at Killens Pond State Park Cross Country Course.

In addition, these two team state titles marks the 60th team state title for XC, Winter Track, and Spring Track at Tatnall since 2003!
Congratulations, Hornets! We are so proud of you! ?? \T/
