Rank One/Summer Information

New and Returning Tatnall Families,

We wanted to provide a few updates that DIAA is requiring for all Delaware schools and student-athletes in both middle and upper school, effective in the 2026-27 school year. There is a lot of information and several links below, so please read through all information that pertains to you and your family.

There is also some information about start dates and head coach contact information for fall sports if your child is planning on participating in Athletics for the fall of 2026.

Thank you for your attention to these updates, as we know it is a lot of information to process, and new platforms take time to get used to. Please utilize the links at the end of this email, as RankOne has provided helpful tools and “how-tos” to help navigate this transitional process.

RankOne

Rank One is a new platform that DIAA will be using, including coach compliance, team rosters, physical forms, and more. Tatnall WILL NOT be using Rank One for uploading physicals. Please continue to use Magnus for all medical information and uploading of required DIAA physical forms. The Athletic Department, along with school nurse Mary Garrett and Athletic Trainer Fred Palfrey, will monitor physicals in Magnus and then manually approve everyone in Rank One for this upcoming school year.

You will, however, need to create a Rank One profile and claim any of your dependents so they are affiliated with Tatnall within this platform. Please read, follow, and utilize the linked Instructional Guide below for creating a Rank One profile and claiming your children in grades 6-12.

Complete Required Forms - Tatnall will not be uploading physicals, but please fill out the Emergency Contact Card section in addition to creating a profile, claiming your child, and completing the first DIAA Eligibility form.

For guidance on how to utilize Magnus and access DIAA physical forms, please click the link below. (DIAA physical forms can be found on their website or by scrolling down to the bottom of the page once you are logged into MyTatnall).

All other fall sports will begin on Monday, August 17th. Additionally, we have put fall coach contact information below in case you have a program specific question over the summer. Message from Athletic Director

Tatnall Athletics

With the fall athletic season upon us, I would like to share some detailed information and a few important dates to put into your calendars. If you have not heard from your program head coaches about dates and times for preseason, they will be reaching out with details very soon. I have listed the email addresses of our fall head coaches below, should you need to reach out with any questions.

  • August 11 - First day of Fall Preseason. Practice times are communicated by head coaches. It is extremely important for students to attend practices once the preseason begins on this date. This will help acclimate new students, reacclimate returning students, and lay a foundation for the season ahead.
  • August 11 - Fall Sports Parent Meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Laird Performing Arts Center. Individual team parent meetings to follow. (Mandatory attendance).
  • August 18 - Fall Sports Media Day for student-athletes from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. (Mandatory attendance).

Message from the Athletic Trainer:
Please upload all completed DIAA physical forms in Magnus by August 11. Most forms take 2-3 days to show up online, so forms uploaded at the end of the week before the 11th may not be visible by the first day. Please upload your physical forms ASAP! For more information about Magnus, please click here.
  • Students should bring a personal water bottle to practice every day, 24oz or more.
  • Tatnall will provide water containers at every practice. Kids may refill their personal water containers from the coolers provided.
  • Please have your kids eat breakfast and drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially the night before.
  • Please have your kids report any injuries to me ASAP. Encourage them to ice at night and to eat a good dinner with plenty of water.
  • I will be monitoring the weather. We have a lightning protocol in place. We also have a weather monitoring station that will guide us in practice modification or cancellation based on temperature and humidity.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Athletic Trainer, Fred Palfrey, at fredpalfrey@tatnall.org if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to a great fall athletics season ahead. I can’t wait to see many of you at games supporting our student-athletes and representing Tatnall with pride! We could not have a successful athletic program without you and our community. Thank you in advance for your partnership and support of our programs! Go Hornets!

Go Hornets.
